We all need to renew within ourselves the absolute primacy of prayer.

The temptation always is to keep prayer solely at the level where we initiate the action, control the agenda and extent of the discussion, determine its time and parameters.

This is to succumb once again to the sin of Adam. It is to make ourselves the center of the universe, trying to control God.

True prayer should convince us that it is God alone who sets the rules, God who has revealed himself as compassionate.
